Iris

Once I was told
Ironically romantic love is the love that can never be
Losing the waves of your singing voice
And how they make me feel like dancing
Even without moving
Like in "One Art"
Might look like disaster
But how can it be too hard to master?
Eventually you returned to your island
While mine has become empty... free?
But isn't how it's supposed to be?
Isn't human nature at some discussion
To trade Liberty for Redemption?
Nothing else will be as sour sweet as a key lime pie bites
Nor the Arc at the Washington Square will ever be as bright
Not even the flowers of Iris as colorful as the magenta skies
It only remais this Bitter End taste of this neverending cold summer night
